KICK-OFF MEETING

The VEG-ADAPT Kick-off meeting was organised at University of Torino (Italy) from 22th to 23th October, 2019. All partners joined the meeting, and fruitful discussion and planning paved the way for a successful work and tre facscinating caffè of the city further consolidated the group!


VEG-ADAPT 2nd MEETING - ONLINE 15 September 2020

Due to the travel and meeting restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemics, the second VEG-ADAPT meeting was organized online. All project partners attended the meeting and General Assembly. The partners discussed the progress of the tasks as well as the many delys incurred by closure of laboratory and greenhouse access in many participant institutions. Th project activities were nevertheless started and in most cased the results proceeded on plan.

VEG-ADAPT 3rd MEETING - AVIGNON (FRANCE) 28-29 October 2021

The meeting has been organized by partners INRAE and GAUTIER Semences in the city of Avignon, at the center of a major vegetable growing area of France. The meeting included presentations on the work performed and planned, progress of the Tasks, and aworkshop on selection of the VEG-ADAPT Core Collection completed the scientific discussion. Progress in all Tasks was recorded, and most of the delays accumulated in the first year of the project were recovered. The General Assembly decided to propose to the funding bodies an extension of the project duration. GAUTIER Semences hosted the partners for a visit of its facilities in Eyragues, which was very much appreciated by the whole party,.

VEG-ADAPT 4th MEETING - AGADIR (MOROCCO) 26-27 October 2022

The 4th VEG-ADAPT meeting was held in a major vegetable producing area of Morocco. Located on the brim of the desert, Agadir enjoys sunny and warm climate and growers only require water to produce beautiful vegetables that are mostly exported. However water availability is steadily decreasing due to climate change and development of adapted vegetable genotypes and growing systems becomes more and more essential for maintaining this flourishing industry. VEG-ADAPT discussed its progress in Agadir together with stakeholders and farmers, thanks to the organization and hospitality of INRA-M, coordinated by Dr Rachid Bouharroud, who also lead the party to very interesting and appreciated technical visits to SIRWA seed company and INRA-M experimental farm.
